Bigger projects:
- MSDS sheets: /index/referenc/msds.htm Some MSDS sheets are very old and need updated. Some products may be missing MSDS sheets too.
- Wheaton LC: Add wheaton LC glassware section (mentioned in 2014 meeting) (TODO: where to get info from? TD?)
- MS Filament section: Mass spec filaments are a major area of our business. We should review our pages pages on this both to ensure (1) filament web pages are up-to-date and (2) to ensure the overall structure and presentation is clear and useful to customers. (TODO: need feedback from CB)
- Fix bad part numbers: (broken/obsolete/superseded)
- For full list, see "analyze" report (2014-10-20 email) "bad part" warnings. Approx 1000 parts.
- LC part numbers: /lc/sis/copper-tubing.htm - fix numbers and check. Other LC pages may also be affected.
Design
- /ms/sis-serv/shopserv.htm update pictures and text. J at MSWIL (2014-10) says pictures look too 1980's era.
Smaller Fixes:
- Plain text prices: Prices should normally not be written in the paragraph text of web pages, e.g. $100, but rather be found in the price tables since only the latter are updated from our database. Some older pages may still have prices in paragraph text. In some cases it may be acceptable though for a price to exist in a paragraph, like if the price does not correspond to a specific part number that could be placed in a price table. Here are web pages that contain prices in paragraph text: /index/sis/news1295.htm /index/sis/news0696.htm /index/sis/labserv.htm /index/sis/news2001.htm /index/sis/news1997.htm /index/referenc/servimen.htm /index/referenc/tip9.htm /index/referenc/tip11.htm /gc/sge/columns.htm /simion/course.htm /simion/course.htm /simion/registra.htm /partgroups/3618K412_temp_content.htm /partgroups/14059_content.htm /partgroups/16017_content.htm /sptd/manual1.htm /sptd/manual3.htm /lc/new-era-special.htm /lab/next-advance-centrifuges.htm /include/news.htm /referenc/applnote/app-97.htm /referenc/abstract/lcinterf.htm /referenc/sites/univ-ms.htm /referenc/sites/chmtgrop.htm /referenc/services/toorder.htm /news/enews/20130601.htm /news/enews/20130426.htm /news/enews/20090922.htm /news/jun2001.htm /ms/kratos.htm /ms/ /ms/filament-repair.htm /software/ms/nist.htm /dealers/program.htm /dealers/terms.htm (DM201403)
- Improve HTML page titles and PDF titles: This particularly affect PDF files, though not exclusively. /news/mar1994.pdf - missing PDF title. See also other PDF's in "/news" directory missing titles in PDF's. lab reference has PDF's missing titles (DM201402/201410)
- HTML description fields many should be provided too (many are missing/poor), although their utility is limited. See e-mail 2014-10-27.
- ISO logo on home page - add link to certs?
- ISO certification text: DM2014-03-06
JB: Yes, I t think we need to name the registrar. Just keep it general.
DM (CC'd CB and DL): should the text at the top of http://scientificmachining.com/iso.html be updated? It mentions only NQA audits. Please provide updated text if necessary. - /lc/ - cleanup "older pages" section (DM2014) (TODO: Ron?) (DM201402)
