SIS™ Thermal Desorption Tubes can be supplied ready for the collection of samples for subsequent analysis. All packed Thermal Desorption Tubes are Silco™ Coated S.S. tubes. The tubes are then packed with the indicated packing between two quartz wool plugs. The packed tubes are then conditioned by ramping the temperature to 320 °C and holding at this temperature for 4 hours under constant carrier gas flow. The tubes are then cooled, capped and sealed to maintain their state. These tubes are supplied complete with SS caps with PTFE seals.

The top fitting of both purge heads consists of a 1/16" fitting for the attachment of the sparging needle followed by needle adaptor to seal the needle in place and provide for the attachment of the purging gas line.
This device is used to inject or load liquid samples directly into the S.I.S. Thermal Desorption Tubes, forcing the syringe contents onto the adsorbent resins in the desorption tube without any loss of sample due to back evaporation.
