BOC Edwards provides a wide range of mechanical rotary vane vacuum pumps with pumping speeds up to 56.5 cfm. These pumps

combine high performance with high reliability.

RV Pumps

The RV pumps provide enhanced performance, improved relia-

EM Pumps

Using the direct-drive rotary vane principle, BOC Edwards’ EM

rotary vacuum pumps are compact and vibration free. They offer
the following capabilities:

Advanced, positive pressure oil lubrication endures reliable
performance even at high gas loads

Easy maintenance and service

BOC Edwards incorporates a proven positive pressure oil lubri-

cation system to ensure correct oil lubrication in all duty modes and
to prevent oil starvation at high gas loads. The use of this system
means that oil reservoir levels are less critical.

Medium Size Pumps

BOC Edwards offers a wide range of roughing pumps that

include the medium mechanical rotary pumps (29.7 cfm and 56.5
cfm). These pumps cover a comprehensive range, as well as pro-
vide high ultimate vacuum down to 7.5 x 10

-4

torr, with low noise

levels and vibration levels.

Aspecial feature of the medium EM pumps is their central vac-

uum inlet that allows you to fit a mechanical booster pump with a
minimum overhang, to create an extremely compact combination
pumping system. The medium mechanical rotary pumps are fan
cooled

o meet the requirements for high throughputs with low
ultimate vacuum, BOC Edwards has developed a totally
new concept in rotary vacuum pumps. The world’s first

dual-mode pump.

The unique dual-mode action allows you to easily configure the

unit to pump very high gas loads and also achieve excellent vacu-
um - all from a single pump. In most cases it increases perfor-
mance at significantly reduced noise levels.

This radical operation is matched by innovative design features

including a cartridge based pumping mechanism incorporating
advanced new materials, a fully featured BOC Edwards motor and
a fast acting inlet valve to seal the pump for suck-back protection.

The pumps are easy to install, use and maintain with superior

build quality to give lowest cost of ownership.

To build a pump this advanced, BOC Edwards has invested

heavily in state-of-the-art manufacturing and assembly technology
in a dedicated ISO9001 factory.

To meet the stringent requirements for ever quieter environ-

ments we have built into the BOC Edwards RV range the results of
an extensive program of noise research into the pump, drive train
and motor. This has reduced both overall noise levels and
improved the subjective quietness by “tuning out” those frequen-
cies which are both intrusive and irritating. Before shipment each
pump is tested in a quiet room using a noise spectrum analyzer.

BOC Edwards RV - easy to install, use and main-
tain

Installation is easy as all BOC Edwards RV pumps feature a

special dual voltage, dual frequency motor with an IEC mains input
socket. Simply plug in the appropriate cable. No need for hard
wiring. An on/off switch controls the pump.

Motor voltage is determined by a simple rocker switch,

enabling the pump to be easily configured for use internationally.

All controls are clearly marked and have large finger grips for

ease of use. Inlet and outlet are both fitted with standard NW25
flanges.

No special tools are required for servicing. The shaft seal can

be changed or repositioned without dismantling the pump. Easy
dismantling for cleaning is a feature. In addition, we provide ser-
vice kits of guaranteed BOC Edwards parts.

The BOC Edwards RV pump conforms to the following standards: IEC 1010; EN1012; IP44; CSA; CE; manufacturing unit certified to
ISO9001 (BS5750).

This miniature two stage pump features an alternative inlet con-

nection position at the side of the pump so that overall installation
height can be reduced to a minimum when required. The interstage
version features an additional pumping port to provide a rough vacu-
um for auxiliary duties. This pump is widely used on mass spectrom-
eters including the Agilent 5971, 5972, 5973, and 5975

The E-LAB 2 pump includes all the components needed for labo-

ratory applications such as wet chemistry and sample preparation.
Based on BOC Edwards proven past experience with vacuum pumps
and developments in accessories, the E-LAB 2 pump allows continu-
ous running, even in the presence of water and solvents. The pump is
supplied with: outlet mist filter, oil return kit, oil change tag, nozzles,
elbow, all fittings, 1 liter of oil, instruction manual and and electrical
supply cable. Assembly is necessary.
