Direct Exposure Probe filaments for use on the Thermo 4000 and 4500 mass specs are available from Scientific Instrument Services

These filaments are direct retrofits for the original plug-in filament. Standard sample loop is 0.016" diameter.
S.I.S. also offers a variety of other filament designs for use on the Thermo probe. FINDEP1 has a larger loop diameter of .031". FIND-
EP2 is a glass encapsulated loop. This provides a metal-free surface for your samples. FINDEP3 utilizes a filament ribbon for easy sam-
ple loading. Give us a call if you would like to try something different FINDEP7000 is for use on the Thermo TSQ7000 mass spec.

This new design incorporates stronger, round filament posts, which do not bend, instead of the straps used by Thermo.
Bending would cause the filament to sag, lose sensitivity, and short out against the shield. In addition, we have lowered the shield approx-
imately 0.25 mm. This also delays a sagging filament from shorting out. (Thermo #40005-60140)
