CDS Pyroprobe Repair
Replacement Platinum Coils
S.I.S. now supplies platinum replacement coils for the CDS
pyroprobe. Coil is made from 0.014" diameter platinum wire.
Quartz Tubes for Pyrolysis Probes
T
here are two styles of quartz tubes. Tubes with both
ends open or with one end sealed are available. Both
are constructed of high purity tubing. These tubes
replace CDS#0100-1060 and have the following dimensions:
O.D. - 2.5mm I.D. - 1.9mm Length - 25mm.
The standard quartz tube for the CDS pyrolysis coil probe is
open on both ends. In this tube, the sample to be analyzed is held
in place with quartz wool. As a second option, we are manufac-
turing these same quartz tubes with the bottom end of the tube
sealed. These tubes can be used in applications where powders
or liquids are analyzed where it is not possible to sandwich the
sample with quartz wool.

oth the coil and ribbon style pyrolysis probes for the
CDS pyroprobe system can be repaired by S.I.S.
TM
The
repair includes the removal of the old heater coil or rib-
bon, thorough cleaning by sandblasting of the probe tip, polishing
the probe rod, replacing the platinum ribbon or coil, and checking
for electrical continuity. Repaired probes are not calibrated.
Platinum Wire and Ribbon for CDS
Pyroprobe
For those users who have their own spotwelder, we offer the
platinum wire and ribbon from which you can make your own
heater coils or ribbons for the CDS pyroprobe.
