Thermo Jet Separator Repair
All models of jet separators can be repaired if the side arms
become damaged or broken. Jets to be repaired must have at
least 5/8” glass arm extending past the main body in order to be
repaired. Jets repaired with less than 5/8" cannot be guaran-
teed. We can also clean most clogged jets. S.I.S. assumes no
responsibility for jets damaged during the unclogging procedure.

The ion volume for the Thermo MAT 4500 and other model
sources can be cleaned and polished to restore them to a like-
new condition. Our procedures include polishing and buffing
with fine abrasives to attain a bright polished metal surface fol-
lowed by thorough solvent cleaning to remove all residues.

Filaments
These Thermo 4500/TSQ filaments designed by S.I.S.
™
, are similar to the original TSQ
filaments but incorporate several design improvements. The round filament posts are
stronger and will not flex as easily as the original posts, which caused the filament to sag.
The shield is lowered to help eliminate a sagging filament from hitting it and shorting out.
This filament should provide better performance and longer life than the original Thermo
filament.

he heater source for the Thermo 4500/4600 and the TSQ70, 700 (Thermo
#400050-60270) includes 4 cartridge heaters, ceramic insulators, leads and
connectors. Individual cartridges (Thermo #40005-98020) are also available
should a cartridge burn out.
The heater assembly for the Thermo 4500/4600, TSQ can be repaired for .
Extreme care must be taken when packaging this unit for shipping to S.I.S. Additional
heater cartridges are easily broken off if not properly packaged. The heater assembly is
not repairable if more than two heater cartridges are burnt out or need to be replaced.

Lens Castle Ceramic
This lens castle for Thermo 4500 mass specs is manufac-
tured from BeO identical to the Thermo originals, #40005-20060
and #40005-20061.
Lens Retainer Ring
The lens retainer ring for the Thermo 4500 is available from
S.I.S. This corresponds to the Thermo part #40005-20070 and
is constructed of beryllium oxide ceramic. Alternatively, a Lens
Retainer Ring constructed of aluminum oxide, is also available.
4000/4500 Solid Inlet Valve Bellows
Assembly
The entire solid inlet valve bellows assembly for the Thermo
4000 and 4500 solid probe inlet valve is available as a complete
unit should the stainless steel bellows become damaged or
develop a leak. The complete assembly
is supplied as pictured including the
sealing ‘O’ ring.
