Platinum Resistance Thermometer Elements
W
hen accurate temperature measurement is required, Platinum Resistance
Thermometers (PRT) are unequalled in performance. These PRT elements
can be used with precision laboratory and industrial instruments. They are sta-
ble over long periods of use. The PRT works on the principle of resistance through a fine
platinum wire as a function of temperature. The resistance of the PRT's listed below is either
50 or 100 ohms at 0°C. Two types are available: ceramic and glass coated ceramic.
Ceramic PRT's are usable over the temperature range -200°C to 750°C.The glass coated
ceramic PRT's are usable over the range -100°C to 550°C.

4500 Mass Spectrometer
This unit includes the 100 ohm platinum resistance thermometer, leads, ceramic insu-
lator, and connectors. lt is similar in design to the original 4500 platinum resistance
thermometer.

Mat 5100 Mass Spectrometer
The temperature sensor for the Thermo 5100 heated sources is available from S.I.S.
We have changed the design slightly to help eliminate the common breakage problem
where the leads enter the platinum resistance element. The 100 ohm PRT includes ceram-
ic lead insulator.
