Miniature Compressed Air Abrasive Cleaning Tool
AEC Kit
The AEC Air Eraser can be used with a small air compressor,
lab bench compressed air, or with compressed air cylinders.
Use the Air Eraser between 15 and 30 p.s.i. for light cleaning
and up to 75 p.s.i. for removal of heavy accumulations and
anywhere else that maximum cutting power is needed. This tool
should always be used in a hood or other well ventilated area and
a respirator should always be worn to avoid breathing in the
abrasives. The AEC air eraser kit comes complete with AEC Air
Eraser with carboloy tip for long life, 4' of 1/8" air hose with
moisture trap and standard 1/4" air compressor coupling, 80 type
filter respirator mask, 6 oz. of fast cutting compound (aluminum
oxide), and one A-34 air eraser hanger.
Model AEC is for use as a replacement or additional tool. For
first time users we recommend purchasing the entire AEC-K kit
which contains all the connections, hose, and abrasive to get
started.

T
he AEC Air Eraser can erase a fine line or work over a
large area removing build-ups of dirt, ink, paint,
oxidation, or contaminations of any kind on plastic or
metal surfaces. It cleans a great variety of delicate parts by
removing rust, tarnish and other difficult to remove
accumulations.
The speed of cleaning or degree of etching can be controlled
by varying both the air pressure and the cutting compound being
used. Aluminum oxide is the hardest abrasive offered. It can be
used for fast cleaning of heavy build-ups and for the cleaning of
hard ceramics. Pumice powder will clean slower but will keep the
etching of metal surfaces down to a minimum. Glass beads, the
most popular abrasive for sandblasting, are non-conducting and
are ideal for use in areas where high voltage will be present.
Glass beads have a medium cutting power and cause only minor
surface abrasion. Starch is the slowest cutting material and
causes no metal surface abrasion at all.
