a direct replacement for the Agilent
original and screws into the fitting
shown above.

New Agilent 5971 Transfer Line Tip

The transfer line tip for the Agilent 5971 MSD has been redesigned to permit the effluent from the end

of the capillary column to purge directly into the MSD source, unlike the original gold plated transfer line
tip in which the effluent purged inside this fitting and was diverted through side vents. This new design elim-
inates any inlet metal contact with the sample. The capillary column protrudes slightly through the end of
the tip directly into the source. This new design should result in higher sensitivity for compounds which are
sensitive to any metal contact.

Agilent 5971 Diffusion
Pump

he Model EO50/60 is a compact,
fast warm-up air-cooled diffusion
pump supplied complete with

high integrity inlet Co-seal, flange clamping
ring and optional baffle. The jet assembly is
removable for easy cleaning.

In many applications the rapid warm-up

capability will enable the EO50/60 to be used without an isola-
tion valve. However, the pump is not intended for use on valve-
less systems where rapid cycling from atmospheric pressure
through the hot pump is required.

Models are available with and without cooling fans. Models

without fans are available as replacement diffusion pumps for
Agilent MSD instruments.

Mini Ion Gauge Tube and Controller for the Agilent 5972

The Mini Ion Gauge Tubes for the HP5972 MSD are available from SIS. The controller

electronics and cable are available if you did not buy this device with your instrument and
now wish to upgrade.
