Agilent 5972, 5973, 5975, 5977 GCD
Repair, & Agilent 2 Coil Standard
Filament Repair
All Agilent filaments (with the exception of the new Agilent 4 coil
filaments) can be repaired using the standard 2 coil Rhenium wire
that was used on all the original Agilent filaments. This is our stan-
dard filament repair unless you request a different type of repair
such as other configurations described below.
Agilent 5975 & 5977 4 Coil Filaments
Now Repaired With SISAlloy®
All Agilent 5975 4 coil filament can only be repaired by SIS using
the new Rhenium alloy (SISAlloy®) developed by SIS SISAlloy®
is an alloy of pure rhenium doped with a small concentration of
Yttria. The Yttria improves the strength of the Rhenium. The elec-
trical characteristics of SISAlloy are identical to pure rhenium,
however the filament has less tendency to sag, thereby improving
filament performance.
Agilent 5973, 5975 & 5977 CI Filament
Repairs
All Agilent CI filaments can be repaired with the standard Rhenium
wire that was used on all the original Agilent filaments. This is our
standard filament repair. However they can also be repaired with
SISAlloy® wire which has less tendency to sag thereby improving
filament performance.
Other Agilent Filament Repairs
All other Agilent filaments can be repaired using either the stan-
dard Rhenium material used in the original filaments or the new
SISAlloy wire for improved performance.
