All Dupont/CEC filaments are cleaned with a miniature sandblaster. The presses are cleaned further by ultrasonic cleaning techniques and checked to be sure there are no resistance leaks across the presses. Broken or missing silver filament leads are replaced at no additional charge. The wire or ribbon is then replaced and properly tensioned and aligned for optimum performance. Please note that on several of the CEC filaments, in particular the 102, 103, 104, and 620 series, CEC provided two types of wires.
Both rhenium and tungsten wire were used in their manufacture. When returning these filaments for repair, please specify which type is required. If not indicated, rhenium wire will be used to complete the repair. This is not an exchange program. Your filaments are repaired and returned to you. In addition to the repair of these filaments, S.I.S. manufactures a new redesigned Dupont 490 filament and Dupont 490 heater.
