Finnigan MAT Dual Transfer Line Repair
This item also available new from S.I.S. Repair of GLT WeldsIf the only problem is that the GLT welds to the Swagelok fittings are leaking, they can be cleaned and vacuum welded to seal the leaks. After repair, the dual transfer line is helium leak checked for good vacuum seals at all joints and welds. If the GLT lines are damaged they will need to be replaced as described in repair REP331 .
Replacement Of Dual Transfer Line Fittings
Dual Transfer Line assembly fittings can be replaced if they become damaged, or if the size or type of fitting needs to be changed. GLT lines must also be replaced at the same time as the fittings. The prices below include replacement of fittings and both GLT lines. Fitting size can be changed to other sizes if requested. For example, two 1/16" fittings can be installed for dual capillary operation.
Replacement of Dual Transfer Line GLTIf either of the GLT lines are damaged or clogged, they will both need to be replaced. Our procedure includes complete disassembly of the movable transfer line, cleaning and replacement of all GLT lines. This is followed by vacuum welding all joints to fittings. After repair the entire assembly is helium leak checked to assure good vacuum seals of all joints and welds. The Swagelok fittings can also be replaced as described in repair REP333.
Repair Of Dual Transfer Line For Capillary Feedthru Operation By changing the curvature of the capillary line bends and increasing the inside diameter, it is possible to feed fused silica tubing completely through the dual transfer line assembly. This repair is identical to repair REP331 described above except that both GLT lines have an internal diameter of 0.7mm and the radius of curvatures is increased, enabling the fused capillary tubing to easily pass through the glass lined tubing. Both GLT lines are replaced and vacuum welded to the fitting. After repair the entire assembly is helium leak checked to assure good vacuum seals at all welds. For dual capillary operation, the ¼' Swagelok fitting can be replaced with a 1/16" Swagelok fitting. See repair REP334.
