Oil Mist Eliminators
The Balston Vacuum Pump Exhaust Filter SystemBalston Vacuum Pump Exhaust Filters utilize Microfibre Filter Cartridges. The filter cartridges capture the fine oil droplets suspended in exhaust air, and cause the droplets to run together to form large drops within the depth of the filter cartridge. The large drops are then forced by the air flow to the downstream surface of the filter cartridge, from which the oil drains by gravity. This process is called "coalescing". Since the coalesced liquid drains from the cartridges at the same rate that liquid droplets enter the cartridges, the cartridges have an unlimited life when coalescing relatively clean liquids, and they operate at their initial retention efficiency even when wet with liquid. Filter Performance CharacteristicsThe Microfibre Filter Cartridges are specifically designed to cover vacuum pump exhaust applications to achieve a retention efficiency of 99.9% at 0.1 micron with a low flow resistance - less than 2 psi back pressure when wet with oil at the maximum flow rating for the housing. The two stage filter cartridge structure minimizes the possibility of carryover of coalesced oil, and the all-inorganic composition is completely resistant to all lubricants and virtually any chemical found in vacuum pump exhaust. The maximum temperature limit for a filter assembly is determined by the elastomer seals or plastic materials in the system. The filter cartridge is permanently sealed into the housing. The entire unit is disposable. Pressure relief filter tube retainer is not available in these models.
NW-25 Adaptor fittings for Alcatel Vacuum pumps are also available. For Hazardous/Corrosive Applications Balston Stainless Steel Filters with Captured Exhaust for Leak-Tight Operation.
