Purge Tube Purge Tube with Side Arm

The Purge & Trap Glass Sample Tubes are utilized with the S.I.S. Purge & Trap System and other manufacturers systems utilized for the analysis of liquid and solid samples. All tubes are constructed from borosilicate glass with 0.5" O.D. tube ends for mating with standard 1/2" fittings. The tubes incorporate a foam breaker usable for the purging of foaming samples.

Two sizes of tubes are available. The 5.0 ml glass tubes are 5.75 inches long with a 1.0 inch diameter foam breaker. The 25.0 ml glass tubes are 7.60 inches long with a 1.6 inch diameter foam breaker. The top connection on all tubes is 0.50 inch outside diameter.

In addition, two styles of each tube size are available. The standard tubes are straight with no side arms and are used for most applications. The side arm style includes a standard glass septum holder side arm mounted on the foam breaker bulb. This septum side arm is routinely utilized for the injection of samples or internal standards into the sample tube during purging in order to assure complete entry of the sample to the sparge vessel with no loss to the atmosphere.

The Plastic Safety Shields have been constructed for the S.I.S. Purge & Trap System. The Shields are designed to slide into the groove milled into the Purge & Trap System Base. Two heights of the safety shields are available. The 5.5" high shields are for use with the 5.0 ml sampling tube or other sample tubes of similar size. The 7.5" high safety shields are for use with the 25 ml sampling tubes. In addition to the standard straight safety shields, two additional models are available with slots in the top part of the back side for use with sampling tubes with septa side arm ports. Other sizes and styles can be custom manufactured by S.I.S. on request. Please call or write with your requirements.
