Instrument Services has developed a new High Temperature Direct
Insertion Probe (HT-DIP). The probes can be used from ambient
temperature up to 800 degrees C with ballistic temperature ramp
of over 700 degrees C/min.
The HT-DIP is designed to be used with the standard probe ports on the HP and Finnigan MAT mass spectrometers. The probes have an overheat temperature sensor in the shaft of the probe to eliminate potential damage to the probe inlet seals. The probes are controlled via a stand alone digital temperature controller. Temperature ramp rates of up to 200 degrees C/minute can be used with the controller. The controller includes a remote start button to remotely start the mass spectrometer data system. Applications include polymers, pharmaceuticals, natural products as well as other solid or liquid samples. Application Note: A High Temperature Direct Probe for a Mass Spectrometer |
